Big I.D.E.A. Planners provide you with Interactive Discussions and Engaging Activities. This editable planner contains a collection of activities and discussion points, including possible resources you can use, to provoke discussion and promote higher order thinking skills. Many of the activities follow the Talking and Thinking Floorbooks Approach. This planner will investigate Technology, Design and Engineering through the use of an every day object familiar to children: spoons! Along with the activities and discussions, the planner includes possible ideas which you can explore and also states a number of curricular links and key skills which the activities promote. There is also space for you to note down any possible lines of development and your next steps or activities. This plan will be most relevant to practitioners, teachers, trainee teachers, child minders and home educators. This is a plan and does not include photographs, signs or labels. It is not an A-Z plan but a tool to help you develop lesson plans, key skills, and possible lines of development.

A Talking Tub is a collection of materials that are designed to stimulate talking and thinking to support responsive child led planning. This consultation can then be recorded in a Talking and Thinking Floorbook™. This approach can be used in early years and primary settings. Talking Tubs should be tailored to suit your individual setting and individual interests of the children so we have intentionally left these as editable documents. The planning grid identifies the lines of enquiry that lie behind the experiences, ideas for 3D and 2D objects and photos and the big questions or possible lines of development that may come out of the discussion.
